ABOUT 'A GLORIOUS MOVEMENT — BODIES IN JOY. VOICES RISING.
A Glorious Movement — Bodies in Joy, Voices Rising emerged from "The Glorious Way She Moves" body of work. Inspired by social dancing, NIA, and Journey Dance classes, I draw on the power of movement as a tool for healing, connection, and celebration. We need each other now more than ever, and I want audiences to see and hear how glorious we are as women.
This multidisciplinary, interactive performance brings the exhibition to life in a visceral way, forging new connections and strengthening camaraderie. The voices of many women are heard as they share their concerns about the present moment, how they remain in their power, and how they uplift others through challenging times. Joy is central to this work. Dance is an accessible, collective act—one that reminds us that joy is resistance, joy is resilience, joy is connection, and joy is our ultimate freedom of expression.
